The Ispahani Group is the country’s popular consumer food conglomerate. Head office of M. M. Ispahani Limited is located in Chittagong. The group is mainly popular for tea business. The group has established companies not only in tea business but also in agro, food, ICT, energy, packaging, poultry, real estate, shipping, textiles, jute and hotels etc. In 2003 the group was honored Bangladesh Business Awards. Reportedly it is one of the most reputed business portions in the subcontinent.
Since 1820, the Ispahani family started business in South Asia. Then in 1900, Mirza Mohammed Ispahani founded M.M. Ispahani & Sons in India. In 1947 the private company’s head office was moved to Chittagong, where it stands today.
The four tea gardens of M.M. Ispahani Ltd namely as Mirzapore, Ghazipore and Zarreen and Neptune. Approximately 3 million kilos of tea are produced in these gardens per annum. The corporate offices of this group is located in Dhaka, Chittagong, and Khulna whereas 10,000 people are employed.
Pahartali Textile & Hosiery Mills, a pioneer spinning mills is a part of Ispahani group. Presently it is export oriented leading knit garments in the country.
